Taylor C. Leonard

Taylor C. Leonard is a Member at Ruegsegger Simons & Stern, LLC, where she represents employers and insurance carriers in complex workers’ compensation matters and related litigation. Her practice focuses on the strategic defense of workers’ compensation claims, with extensive experience handling matters from initial claim evaluation through trial and appellate proceedings.

Ms. Leonard joined Ruegsegger Simons & Stern in 2019 after practicing with a prominent regional workers’ compensation defense firm in St. Louis, where she represented employers and insurance carriers in Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa. She has since continued to build a multijurisdictional practice, representing clients in workers’ compensation matters across several states, including Arizona.

With experience at both the trial and appellate levels, Ms. Leonard provides clients with thoughtful, strategic counsel tailored to the particular circumstances of each claim. She has successfully argued matters in multiple jurisdictions and regularly advises clients on claim strategy, litigation risk, and the effective management and resolution of workers’ compensation disputes. She is also a frequent speaker on workers’ compensation claims, litigation strategy, and emerging issues affecting employers and insurers.

Ms. Leonard is admitted to practice in Colorado, Arizona, Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa. She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the State Bar of Arizona, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Missouri Bar, the Iowa State Bar Association, and the Alliance of Women in Workers’ Compensation.

A Colorado native, Ms. Leonard was born in Fort Collins and lives in Denver with her husband, Ben, and their three daughters. Outside of her practice, she enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, spending time with her family, and cheering on the Missouri Tigers.
