MACKENZIE LEONARD is an Attorney at Ruegsegger Simons & Stern, LLC. Ms. Leonard joined the firm in 2026. She focuses her practice on civil litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Leonard served as a Term Law Clerk to U.S. Magistrate Judge Susan Prose in the District of Colorado and previously to U.S. Magistrate Judge Jill A. Morris in the Western District of Missouri. Her clerkships gave her substantial experience in complex federal civil litigation, including motions practice, discovery disputes, temporary restraining orders, preliminary injunctions, class actions, trade secrets claims, insurance disputes, and civil rights matters.
Ms. Leonard earned her J.D. cum laude from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, where she served as a teaching assistant for criminal and contract law and was active in Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. She also interned with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri.
Ms. Leonard is admitted to practice in Colorado. She currently lives in Denver. In her free time, she enjoys reading, practicing yoga, and spending time with her family.
