Jonathan (“Jon”) Cooper serves as litigation counsel to private and public companies, government entities and employees, healthcare providers, and insurers. His practice areas include constitutional civil rights, premises liability, products liability, personal injury, employment matters, and subrogation. Mr. Cooper began his legal career at a large Philadelphia law firm before leaving for the public sector, where he spent the better part of a decade. While in Philadelphia he also served as a court-certified arbitrator, presiding over and adjudicating cases in a non-binding setting. Most recently before joining Ruegsegger Simons & Stern, Mr. Cooper supervised and worked alongside a talented group of attorneys at the Denver City Attorney’s Office, defending the city and its employees in complex constitutional matters and tort actions.
Mr. Cooper has secured favorable outcomes in federal and state courts, many in defense of clients in challenging, high-stakes matters. He has tried over 20 cases to jury verdict and obtained dozens of favorable judgments and dismissals on dispositive motions, spanning various subjects and legal theories. Mr. Cooper also regularly represents clients at mediations and settlement conferences.
